What does a chiropractor treat?

Chiropractors focus on the health of the spine and nervous system. At ADIO Family Chiropractic, we help patients with back pain, neck pain, headaches and migraines, sciatica, posture-related pain, whiplash, scoliosis, herniated discs, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sports injuries. We also provide wellness care for families who want to stay healthy.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care is a safe, non-invasive, drug-free approach for many musculoskeletal conditions when performed by a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Dave uses a drop table and an activator, which allow precise spinal adjustments without twisting the body or placing it in awkward positions.

Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?

Most patients feel little to no discomfort during an adjustment, and many feel relief right away. Because our techniques are gentle and controlled, they are well suited for children, expecting moms, seniors, and anyone who is nervous about traditional “cracking” adjustments.

What does ADIO stand for?

ADIO stands for Above, Down, Inside and Out. It describes the idea that healing flows from Above, Down to the body, and from Inside (the nervous system), Out to every part of the body. You can learn more on our About page.

What should I expect at my first visit?

Your first visit includes a review of your health history, posture pictures, a balance check on bilateral scales, spinal palpation, and in most cases X-rays. Dr. Dave will then give you your first gentle adjustment. Read more on our Your First Visit and What to Expect pages.

Can I fill out my new patient forms before my appointment?

Yes. Adult and child New Patient Health History forms are available on our New Patients page. Print them, complete them at home, and bring them with you. Otherwise, please arrive 10 minutes early to complete them in our office.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No referral is needed to schedule a visit at ADIO Family Chiropractic. Some insurance plans may have their own referral rules, so we recommend checking your plan or calling our office at (636) 498-2346 with questions.

Do you accept insurance?

We welcome health insurance and will help you receive as many benefits as your plan allows. We will copy your insurance card at your first appointment to estimate your coverage. We also accept cash, checks, debit cards, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. See our Payment Options page for details.

Is chiropractic care safe for children and babies?

Yes. Pediatric adjustments use far less pressure than adult adjustments and are adapted to a child’s size and stage of development. Learn more about our pediatric chiropractic care.

Can I see a chiropractor while pregnant?

Yes. Dr. Dave is certified in the Webster Technique, a gentle approach that balances the pelvis and its supporting muscles and ligaments without putting pressure on the belly. Visit our pregnancy chiropractic page to learn more.

How many visits will I need?

Every care plan is personalized. The number of visits depends on your condition, how long you have had it, your age, and your goals. After your exam and X-rays, Dr. Dave will review your results with you and you will decide together on a plan you are comfortable with.

Once I start chiropractic care, do I have to go forever?

No. Care is based on your individual needs and goals. Some patients choose periodic maintenance visits after they heal to help keep their spine aligned and prevent future problems, but that choice is always yours.

Do you take X-rays?

In most cases, yes. X-rays give Dr. Dave a clear view of your spinal alignment so he can create an accurate care plan. They are not always needed, and the decision is based on your history and exam findings.

Do you offer services besides adjustments?

Yes. We also offer spinal screenings, corrective exercises, physiotherapy, nutritional consultations, and lifestyle advice to support long-term wellness.

Can chiropractic care help with headaches?

Many patients find relief from tension headaches and migraines with chiropractic care. Gentle adjustments can reduce stress on the nervous system and improve joint mobility in the neck, and nutritional guidance can help identify food triggers.

Should I see a chiropractor after a car accident?

Yes. Whiplash and other injuries from car accidents do not always cause symptoms right away. A chiropractic evaluation soon after an accident can identify spinal misalignments before they lead to chronic pain.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday and Wednesday from 7:30am to 11:30am and 3pm to 6pm, Thursday from 9am to 11:30am and 3pm to 6pm, and Friday from 7:30am to 12pm. Saturday visits are available by appointment. We are closed Tuesday and Sunday.

ADIO Family Chiropractic is located at 2330 Hwy 94 South Outer Rd in St. Charles, MO 63303. We proudly serve families from St. Charles, St. Peters, O’Fallon, Cottleville, Weldon Spring, and Harvester.
