Before Your Appointment

Once your appointment is booked, you can download our New Patient Health History Forms to fill out at home and bring with you. If you prefer, simply arrive 10 minutes early to complete the form in our office. You will be greeted by our friendly receptionist, who will be expecting you.

Your Health History

The New Patient Health History form asks about your family history, because some issues in the body can be hereditary (though that does not mean we cannot help). It also asks about your health habits and medical history. We want to cover all the bases so we can help you as much as possible.

Your Examination

After reviewing your health history together, Dr. Dave will perform a thorough evaluation that includes:

  • Posture pictures to identify imbalances
  • A balance check on bilateral scales
  • Spinal palpation to locate the source of any problems
  • X-rays in most cases, to get a clear look at your spine

These steps are similar to our spinal screenings and help pinpoint the root cause of conditions like back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and headaches.

Your First Adjustment

Next, you will receive your first adjustment to begin the healing process. Dr. Dave’s chiropractic technique is widely known for being very gentle. He uses two main tools, a drop table and an activator, that allow him to adjust the spine without twisting the body or moving your arms and legs into awkward positions. This approach is comfortable for all ages, including children receiving pediatric chiropractic and expecting moms receiving pregnancy chiropractic care.

Your Report of Findings

You will then schedule a second visit so Dr. Dave can go over your exam results and X-rays with you. Together, you will decide what you feel comfortable doing and create a game plan to get you on the path to feeling better. Your plan may include adjustments along with corrective exercises, physiotherapy, lifestyle advice, or nutritional consultations.

An activator is a small handheld tool that delivers a quick, gentle impulse to a specific area of the spine.

Will I be adjusted on the first visit?

Yes, in most cases you will receive your first gentle adjustment after your exam.

When will I learn my results?
